Community Manager (Part-Time Contractor)

Parallel is an investment office and production studio shaping the next era of wellness media. Our mission is to make wellness more accessible through storytelling. Prism is one way we do that: a newsletter that upends wellness clichés — with honest and entertaining takes across physical, mental, and social health.
The Role
We’re looking for a part-time Community Manager who can take our existing library of newsletter content and repackage it into social-first, engaging, culturally fluent formats that grow awareness, increase social followership, and convert to newsletter signups. This role is equal parts strategist and doer: you’ll edit, adapt, and amplify what we already have, while spotting opportunities to experiment with new formats and surface Prism’s unique voice across platforms.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in the overlap of culture and wellness, knows how to translate long-form content into scroll-stopping moments, and can grow a loyal online community by showing up with humor, empathy, and creativity.
Responsibilities

Content repackaging & amplification: Turn existing essays, interviews, and media assets into engaging posts, stories, and reels that feel native to each platform.

Community engagement: Monitor, respond, and nurture dialogue with our target audience across our hero platforms: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Beehiiv.

Publishing calendar: Develop and manage a consistent content cadence that amplifies Prism and Parallel projects.

Analytics & insights: Track engagement and audience growth, sharing takeaways that inform future strategy.

Trendspotting:- Surface relevant cultural moments and wellness conversations, and connect them back to our brand POV.

Experimentation: Test new formats (audio snippets, carousels, memes, polls, live chats, collabs) to boost reach and deepen connection.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years experience in social media, community management, or digital content (agency, publisher, or brand side).
- Proven ability to translate long-form or editorial content into social-native storytelling.
- Strong writing and editing skills with a sharp eye for tone and voice (funny, smart, warm — not cheugy).
- Digitally fluent and culturally savvy; you know when to lean into trends and when to zag.
- Experience with scheduling, analytics, and basic creative tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, etc.).
- Passion for wellness, storytelling, and building online communities.

- $35-45/hr depending on experience (approx. 20 hrs/week).
